"My partner and I hired Daniela Masters of Aging Well Advocates to provide case management services for our friend, Bill. We were Bill’s “family” as he had no children or close relatives. Daniela worked with Bill while he resided in an assisted living facility for slightly more than one year until he passed away in February of 2024. As you will see from the following remarks, we highly recommend Daniela and Aging Well Advocates.
Daniela understood the importance of building a positive working relationship with Bill. Her approach was respectful, kind, optimistic, and patient. Bill, who was not particularly a “people person,” soon trusted Daniela and enjoyed her company. His care needs significantly increased over the months Daniela collaborated with him. She was able to navigate the challenging and evolving dichotomy of supporting Bill in making decisions and accomplishing tasks on his own versus performing the tasks for him.
Daniela provided an extraordinarily wide range of services. She coordinated Bill’s healthcare including making and managing appointments, finding specialists, advocating for Bill with providers, managing Bill’s medication (procurement and compliance), and providing transportation. Bill went to the Emergency Room, was hospitalized, and placed in rehabilitation centers a few times which required an additional layer of coordination. Daniela advocated for Bill within his assisted living environment, and this was invaluable. She assisted Bill with a wide variety of other tasks including helping with his mail, organizing paperwork and clothing, banking, paying bills, and shopping when there was an immediate need. As Daniela told me when I first interviewed her, she will do whatever task is needed and possible, however big, or small.
Daniela always kept us well informed. We appreciated her optimism and desire to find solutions and try new things. She is deeply knowledgeable about resources and the needs of elderly people. We trusted her with Bill’s care and appreciated her continuing to assist us after Bill’s death. She informed providers of his death, canceled appointments, kept track of Bill’s mail, paid bills, and helped us clean out his unit. As you can imagine, it was a difficult and complicated time, and her continued support was particularly helpful."

"When my father was in a rehab facility and we had extremely limited time to find long term care for him, we reached out to Daniela Masters. From day one, Daniela made us feel "heard" by really listening to our concerns and helped us find the perfect nursing home for him. She is knowledgeable, kind, compassionate and straightforward. We never felt like information was being whithheld.
Daniela was also very patient with all our questions. We would highly recommend Daniela and Aging Well Advocates."

"I was totally lost as to how to help my brother-in-law and sister (a brain aneurysm survivor and unable to care for herself) when I realized how much they had let themselves and their house deteriorate. I made every attempt to help them, but my brother-in-law was extremely resistant as well as belligerent in all attempts.
Aging Well Advocates was recommended to me to assist them. After contacting Aging Well Advocates and informing them of the situation, I was told that Aging Well Advocates would try to help. Daniela Masters was able to gain their trust. This resulted in my sister getting the medical and dental help that was needed. Aging Well Advocates also brought my sister to the medical and dental appointments (we live out of state and could not perform these tasks). My brother-in-law, who had not seen a doctor in over thirty years, even got to the point of choosing a PCP with Daniela's prodding.
Unfortunately, my brother-in-law passed. Aging Well Advocates found a facility that took care of her until we could move her closer. During that period of time, Aging Well Advocates continued to support my sister by ensuring all medications were up-to-date and available, getting her medical and dental appointments, and ensuring she was well taken care of. I have high praise for Aging Well Advocates".

"I was referred by our family attorney (who is also a friend) when my dad was in a nursing home and my mom was no longer able to be alone in an independent living apartment. It was a complicated situation financially as well as emotionally and Daniela was immediately able to ask the pertinent questions in each area of my concern and I finally took a good deep breath after our conversation. I have since shared Daniela’s info with my cousins and cannot recommend her more highly. This is too tough of a road to travel without Daniela being your gps!"

"I was given Daniela’s number at a very stressful time in my life. I was trying to place my mother in a care facility from a rehab situation. There was not a lot of time to explore or visit. I had no experience of any of these facilities and I honestly did not know where to start. I was feeling very overwhelmed.
Daniela responded to my call the same day and after speaking with her I was very relieved to have someone so knowledgeable and capable on my side. Over the next few days Daniela communicated with me frequently and I learned a lot about my options in a very short time. Daniela also acted as a mediator between myself and the potential care facilities. She researched the best options for me to visit. She helped me navigate the financial aspect. She advised me on the best way to proceed and talked to me about financial options that I never even knew I had. At all times Daniela was responsive, direct, concise and to the point.
Within a couple of weeks with Daniela’s help I found an excellent facility for my mother. Everything moved very quickly. Daniela took a lot of the stress and the legwork out of this situation. I could not recommend her highly enough. Her cost was very reasonable.
You will not regret hiring her. She is an excellent advocate to have on your side."

"I cannot sing Daniela's praises high enough. At a very stressful time for myself and my family, Daniela gave us such valuable support and guidance through the process of navigating my Mom's rehabilitation stay and transition back to her home. Daniela's knowledge and tenacity made a very challenging process much easier. Whenever a challenge would come up, Daniela would help me navigate it and bring closure to it so efficiently. She helped us make my Mom's transition home a true success. We are so grateful the service she provides.

"We are so thankful to Daniela for helping us through the challenges of caring for our family member with Alzheimer's. Daniela is so caring and experienced and she has given us peace of mind by helping with communication with the home health care givers, future planning and expectations, family communication and so much more. It's been a huge weight off of our shoulders and the best decision we ever made to hire her!"

"Daniela was hired to help oversee the care of my elderly uncle residing in a nursing home since there were no family members close-by. She immediately set to work contacting various members of the health care team at the nursing home as well as coordinating a visit with my uncle’s attorney. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 epidemic hit and the nursing home was locked down. Despite this, Daniela continued to make numerous telephone calls checking in on his well-being, as well as requesting a list of anything he may need. She remained in close contact with me, either via telephone or e-mail. In the end, my uncle. sadly passed away from the epidemic without meeting Daniela, but her presence in his life - albeit in the background - was a positive influence on the family. She helped coordinate end-of-life care compassionately and empathetically. And...she was able to secure his personal effects from the nursing home and arranged for shipment to me, which was an amazing feat during the climate of the epidemic! Daniela’s professionalism, along with her compassion and empathy made the last several chaotic weeks of my uncle’s life and sadness of his death less traumatic for all involved.
I strongly recommend utilizing Daniela’s service in caring for elderly family members as she brings expert knowledge of geriatric care guidelines, as well as policies and procedures. Her presence eases the stress of caring for family members.”

"Being faced with a crisis when there is no plan in place is not only an emotional toll, but a time consuming one, and time may not be on your side. Ms. Masters was able to quickly guide me through the process of end of life care for both my parents when I had no plan in place. She was able to assess our financial picture, point me to the best health care facilities for their needs, and reassure me that whatever decisions were made were in the best interest of my loved ones. Her experience, and compassion, are evident the moment you meet her.
Being able to care for my parents at the end of their life was a privilege. However, getting to that point in a comfortable space would not have been possible without the expert guidance of Ms. Masters.
Without having Ms. Masters on my side, I don’t know if I could have navigated the health care landscape as efficiently as I did. Ms. Masters was able to quickly assess the needs of my family unit, and create a reasonable plan that could be executed timely. Her knowledge is invaluable but more importantly, her compassion and empathy helped to ease our fears."

"Daniela is extremely professional and knowledgeable in her area of expertise. My family and I have worked with her multiple times over the past couple of years as we have dealt with my mother’s early onset Alzheimer’s progression and the need for further care.
Each time we had questions or needed assistance, Daniela was quick to respond and help out in every way she could; she is amazing! Her compassion and support through this difficult journey has made our heartbreaking situation less painful and we are extremely grateful to her. I cannot say enough about what a wonderful person and resource she has been for my family and me."
~ Julie R.
"Thank you so much for your help. I truly don’t know how I could have gotten through this journey without you. Your business is certainly filling a void in this current day and age. I look forward to putting the rest of the puzzle together to resume normalcy."

"Hiring Daniela Masters was one of the best things I've ever done. My mom's funds were getting low and I needed to find a MassHealth facility fast. As soon as I gave Daniela the green light that she was hired and moved forward she contacted over 8 facilities close to my home. The facility my mom was leaving made it difficult for us to get my mom's medical records but Daniela kept me informed up to the minute her progress. She continued to work tirelessly until my mom's records were finally sent to 6 facilities. Daniela did a great job communicating every detail of her progress. She kept me up to date with all the details of the facilities that would accept my mom. With her incredible skills, we were able to get my mom into a facility in 3 weeks from door to door. She's very reasonable and worth every penny. I can't tell you how comforting it was knowing Daniela was on the job. I knew she would find my mom a place to live. She works as if she is part of your family. She's old school. She returns calls and emails and answers all questions through this difficult process.
I highly recommend Daniela Masters if you're looking to get your Parent into a MassHealth Nursing Home."

"My mother went to an assisted living facility and after only 3 months needed to leave and be placed in a nursing home. I had already done some legwork on local nursing homes but found the process extremely overwhelming . The back and forth phone-calls, the information that each nursing home needed, and understanding the process, language, and pros and cons of each one was daunting. My close friend who had just been through this process highly recommended Daniela so I reached out to her. Boy was I so happy I did. She freed me up from all of the legwork needed and enabled me to have time to try and handle all of the emotions I had placing my mom in a nursing home. Her extensive background in this field provides a perspective that most lay people do not have. Hiring Daniela was the best decision I made as she made the process of transitioning my mom to a nursing home seamless. She was efficient, kept me updated continually, and I felt at peace knowing she was handling it all. As I told her in an email - she was a godsend and I appreciated everything she did to help in this process. I also am grateful to know I have someone to reach out to for help if the need arises."
